German Day Out 2016
Auf in die weite Welt!
A promotional event for secondary students to encourage the ongoing learning of German organised by the AGTV Inc. and Goethe-Institut Australia.
Morning Program
The program at the Melbourne Town Hall begins promptly at 11.00am and finishes at 12.00pm.
Students from AGTV member schools pay a member rate for entry to the program at the town hall.
Registrations are through the Goethe-Institut. An invoice will be forwarded to the contact teacher to organise payment.
Teachers from schools more than 90km from the CBD may apply to the Committee of the AGTV for a travel subsidy: treasurer@agtv.vic.edu.au
This event is supported by the Victorian Government.
Thanks to the City of Melbourne for sponsoring this event, including venue hire ($6000), and to the Goethe-Institut Australia for the significant support to cover the cost of the AV at the town hall.
Afternoon Program
Teachers may choose to organise additional activities in the afternoon for their students.
The Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) purposely screen a Next Gen Film on the same day as the GDO.
The National Gallery Victoria (International) offer a special program on the day of the GDO.
The Goethe-Institut in St.Kilda Road will have a free exhibition with activities. This will be running from 11 Jul to 7 Sep 2016.
Teachers may wish to organise a visit of the Immigration Museum.
