AGTV Years 4 to 9 Poetry Competition

Details as at 13 July 2020

THIS EVENT IS ONLY FOR STUDENTS FROM AGTV MEMBER SCHOOLS

Planning following the impact of COVID-19

The Committee has been discussing (at online meetings) how the poetry competition can proceed with remote learning in place. A member made the suggestion to conduct virtual regional finals and this is being seriously considered. It would require cooperation of teachers in managing the logistics with their students to select entrants for the Regional Final.

The Committee decided to have have no new poems in 2020

  • 2019 DaF poems will be used for the DaF section in 2020
  • 2018 Open poems for the Open section in 2020
  • Recordings of poems will be available to download
  • No Group Performance in 2020

Initial Plans

  • Find out which levels from which schools would like to participate
  • Consider options for a virtual Regional Final e.g. use an online meeting option for a live performance either individually or in groups with the judges, or students record and forward an audio file for judging, or a variety of options - TO BE CONFIRMED!
  • The State Final venue has been booked for Saturday 22 August (tbc)
