About this lounge:
The Committee has invited Katerina Forrester to share some of the practical strategies she has used to prepare students for VCE with a focus on connecting and building their confidence and building skills so that students feel confident to choose language at VCE.
Presenter: Katerina Forrester
Katerina Forrester has worked in all school sectors and is currently teaching French part-time at the Victorian School of Languages. Katerina is also a freelance content creator and recently completed work for Pearson Education. While on family leave, Katerina initiated a small online business - French Educational Resources. Prior to teaching, she worked as a community Linguist in Australian Aboriginal languages. She is particularly passionate about communicative language teaching, student engagement and language teacher collaboration.
At her last school, Katerina's positive impact on the French program is evidenced by turning what was usually a small VCE class into two classes of French at Year 11 and then Year 12.
