Target Audience: Teachers of German, particularly secondary teachers.
About this Lounge:
This Lounge is for teachers seeking strategies to build safe, engaging classrooms that respond to the needs of learners, including re-thinking assessment strategies. It will benefit language teachers across all levels, particularly secondary school teachers, looking to strengthen student retention, reduce speaking anxiety, and innovate practice in ways that match current student realities.
Attendees will leave inspired to rethink what it truly means to teach a languages today. They will gain clarity on why students are opting out, how current practices often miss the mark, and what small but powerful shifts can help us reconnect with learners and keep students studying in languages.
About the Presenter:
Janet Schneider has presented for LTV online and a the LTV Conference about teaching kids of today and the new oral assessment strategies Brisbane State HS has trialled and then adopted across all six languages taught at their school, including German.
