MUSIK IM MAI


The Committee supports the Goethe-Institut's initative to encourage teachers to collaborate in raising the profile of German across Australia and New Zealand in May. The initiative is called: German Language Week in May.


The AGTV Committee is organising two events across May for teachers and students in Primary and Secondary schools under the theme: Musik im Mai. We ecnourage all schools participate in one or both of these. There will also be a Padlet with other ideas for teachers.

AGTV Song Competiton


Primary: Welches Lied gewinnt? - 4 songs

Secondary: Welcher Song gewinnt? - 8 songs


Over the month of May, students vote for their favourite songs in a knockout competitition. Teachers record the school vote on a Padlet. The final vote is secret.


One vote per school or campus or related levels from an F-12 school. Schools decide which year levels will participate and how they will collate and tally their school results.


There is a Primary and Secondary Padlet housing the songs and llyrics and where votes will be entered. There are other optional resources you may wish to use, including chat mats, classroom activities.

AGTV Gute Laune Dance Competition


Upload a performance of a group dancing to the chorus of Gute Laune by Großstadt Engel twice through. Anyone at the school can participate in the dancing.


There is no limit on the number of entries.


Entries accepted from 1 to 31 May.


Various $$ prizes on offer including prizes for dancing in a public place, and one for teachers.

*If you play the videos from within the Padlet, there are no ads.


Make sure you have parent/carer permisison to upload the video of students involved.

A series of 30 min online information sessions are offered.

No registration required - just click on the link for the meeting.
